Cutting Edge DevOps

Teads is organizing a DevOps Summer School where you will learn how modern systems are built, deployed, and operated at scale. You will gain hands-on experience with infrastructure, automation, and cloud-native technologies while building a production-ready system from scratch.

We will start by planning the system architecture and setting up development and deployment environments, followed by creating a simple service. You will then connect the service to a NoSQL database and an external API, introduce event-driven communication with a message broker, and implement logging, monitoring, and metrics to ensure system observability.

A strong focus will be placed on DevOps practices such as containerization, continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), and infrastructure as code. You will learn how to build and dockerize your application, automate its deployment, and run it in a cloud environment. You will also explore orchestration tools and concepts like scalability, reliability, and fault tolerance.

The summer school will consist of many useful talks given by our expert engineers, each followed by a hands-on workshop where you will apply what you’ve learned. It’s a great opportunity if you want to understand what it means to work in DevOps and how modern infrastructure and systems are managed in the industry.

The whole event will take place on site in our offices on Dunajska cesta 5 and will be completely FREE of charge (including lunch, coffee, snacks, and all activities). However, we do expect your full commitment during the 3 day program. If you apply, get accepted, and don’t show up, you are taking away a seat from someone else who really wanted to attend!

Who will benefit most from attending the DevOps Summer School?

Eager individuals who know how to write code and are interested in infrastructure, automation, and system operations. Since most of the program is hands-on, some familiarity with software development and computing concepts is recommended. For example:

  • Final-year undergraduate, master’s, or PhD students in Computer Science or related fields
  • Recent graduates from Computer Science or similar programs
  • Professionals in software engineering or IT roles who want to learn more about DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and automation

How much experience do you need?

You will learn a lot about DevOps practices during the summer school, but it is helpful if you are familiar with basic programming concepts, APIs, and how applications work. A good rule of thumb is: if you’ve built or worked with a simple application, studied computer science, or have experience as a software engineer or IT professional, you’ll be able to follow along and benefit fully.

What is the plan?

3 days of engaging talks on DevOps topics such as containerization, CI/CD, cloud platforms, monitoring, and infrastructure as code delivered by our experienced engineers followed by hands-on workshops where you will implement these concepts. By the end, you will have a fully deployed application running in a cloud environment. All of this will be accompanied by fun activities and great food.

Schedule

The schedule will be announced soon!
